Dear Clients and Stakeholders,
Gulf Med Aviation Services Ltd. is continuing to adapt and evolve its response surrounding COVID-19. The world changed beyond recognition in the last weeks, these are extraordinary times, and our absolute priority is to ensure the well-being and safety of our personnel and clients. We would like to reassure you that we remain operational. That is not to say that we have not been affected, but activation of our business continuity measures means that for now, service provision is uninterrupted.
As a precautionary measure against the ongoing risk of COVID-19, non-technical staff were rostered to work from home, while staff members working at our airport base have been reduced to a minimum.
All business travel was cancelled. Our staff have received training in how to minimise their risk of exposure, while our front-line teams were issued with the required personal protective equipment. All offices were issued with hand sanitising gel and sanitary wipes. In coordination with our affiliate company Medilink International, arrangements were made for the disinfection of our aircraft using hospital-grade measures.
On 20 March 2020, the Malta International Airport (LMML) suspended all inbound commercial (passenger) flights but remains open to facilitate the arrival and departure of cargo, humanitarian, and repatriation flights.
Our business operations are being continuously adapted to mitigate potential impacts and we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely. We are paying particularly close attention to guidance from local government authorities, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and World Health Organisation (WHO).
Should we reach a point where an effect on our service delivery to your individual operation is inevitable, we will communicate this with as much notice as possible so that together we can plan and work towards overcoming the issues in the quickest of time.
In the meantime, we remain at your disposal for any concerns that may arise.
Stay safe, and as always, thank you for your support.
Best wishes
Emma Finlay-Broadbelt
